Our Story
How we got here
2023 The first GreenTech Gathering event
We hosted our first GreenTech Gathering at Fearns, Leeds Dock, with a small group of innovators. Many still return today, and some have become long-term partners. That first event confirmed the need for something open, action-led and built for climate progress.
2024 Our events become award winning
Our second and third events sold out weeks in advance. We partnered with the University of Leeds and Climb23 as the community and momentum continued to grow. GreenTech Gathering became a fixture in the Leeds tech scene, winning Leeds Digital Festival’s ‘Facilitator of the Year’ award.
2025 Helping grow the northern ecosystem
GreenTech Gathering became a recognised name in the North’s climate ecosystem, co-delivering an investment readiness bootcamp with Sustainable Ventures, Europe’s largest climate tech VC firm. A delegation from the community also travelled to Parliament for Reset Connect North’s launch announcement, helping open national conversations and champion Northern investment in climate innovation.
2026 Breaking out beyond West Yorkshire
Now entering a phase of strategic growth, we are scaling our community of over 1,000 people and hosting events beyond West Yorkshire. With strong foundations in place, our focus is on reaching more regions, strengthening collaboration and investment across the north and increasing the real-world impact of climate technology.
